  • I have been in so much pain from an infected tooth for the last 3 weeks. Unfortunately, I was terrified to go to a Dentist because I don't have dental insurance and I was terrified of the cost to fix my tooth. Today, I couldn't take the pain a minute longer and I called a Dentist that is right down the street from me. After explaining my situation, I was quickly given an appt scheduled for just 2 hours later. While seated in the waiting room, the most awful searing pain slammed me and I was desperate to keep from crying (I was now in public). The hygienist called me back (I waited no more than 5 minutes) and while she walked with me back to the exam room, I absolutely lost it; hysterical, hiccuppy, shuddering sobs that I could not get under control. I was horrified. The next thing I knew, she was sitting next to me, with an arm around me, handing me tissues and allowing me to lose my mind. She was amazing and I am so grateful for her compassion. After X-raying (for $25?! So affordable for me) my tooth, she didn't waste any time in recruiting Jackie (Billing) to carefully explain the cost to fix me. I was expecting that a tooth extraction would cost several hundred dollars but with the aid of a promotional gift card, the total cost was a very affordable (for me) $180. The Dentist (the older I get, the younger and better looking Dentists get...) was also extremely friendly and patient with me, (thanks to 3 hits of numbing shots) and removed my tooth quickly and painlessly. About an hour and a half later, I was sent on my way to the drug store to get antibiotics and pain killers. Before I left Danielle said "good bye" to me and explained that she was a temp and probably wouldn't see me again for any further dental appts. That is my only "complaint"! Danielle is so compassionate, making me feel so much better about my situation. Please....give her a FT, permanent position with Smile Today on Thunderbird Road! While everyone was professional, extremely friendly and worked so hard to put me at ease...I wouldn't have survived this mess if she hadn't been so incredibly kind to me. Editor's Note: I am 99.9% positive the Hygienist's name is Danielle. I apologize (profusely) in advance if I have her name wrong.
