If you want to indulge in a little creativity then this is a good time. I come here with friends and we just gab and paint. Yes, it is pricey but no more so than going out to dinner and drinks with the girls. They now have a pottery painting pass that you can buy that gets you your paint time for about half off when all is said and done (just don't lose it-it's just a business card size and they don't keep track of you in a system so if you lose it, it's gone). You still have to pay for your pottery. If you go often then make sure to get the frequent painter card. You can just walk in but I've noticed if there's no school that day it can be really busy.
