The Japanese Friendship Garden should also be called the Secret Garden because it is surrounded and eclipsed by all the urban buildings plus when you think Phoenix or Arizona Japanese garden would not be your first thought or your fifth thought.
I love this place because it is so serene and tranquil. Even though it is a small garden the plants and Japanese architecture transport you to a far and a different place other then Arizona. They have a wonderful waterfall that feeds into a pond that is filled with koi fish. They even have a building that is used for tea ceremony. There is an admissions fee to get in but it is worth it and helps to keep this special gem going. Another special note to keep in mind for all the big time photographers is there is no photography allow in there. But again this garden is worth the visit.
