| - I've been practicing yoga for nearly a decade, at many different studios. This is hands down my favorite studio in Pittsburgh. The instructors offer modifications as needed, the flow is challenging, and many instructors offer helpful adjustments.
A few reasons I gave 4 rather than 5 stars - these are all individually minor, but they differentiate this from my all time favorite studios:
1) The instructors do not adequately rate their classes based on experience - I have often found myself in a class that is mostly Ashtanga, or that is fast paced, and the studio does not offer this on their schedule, which makes planning my ideal yoga workout difficult.
2) The cork flooring looked lovely when they first opened, but the high moisture leaves the floor in the studio looking warped, often wet, and honestly pretty gross.
3) Significant un-even-ness in teaching methods between instructors without explaining this on their website or offering which instructor has which style for students who are newer to the studio. Yes, you'll figure this out eventually, but it's nice to know up-front so you can select what works for your practice.
An important note that differs from many other studios - this studio locks its doors at class start time. This means that if you are late, tough luck! I have grown to like this about the studio, but pretty important to know if you're coming for the first time.
