| - This place is a southside staple! Forget Primantis brothers for a minute and focus on this sandwich loving, craft beer promoting establishment.
My current check ins don't accurately reflect how many times I've been here and introduced people to this fine restaurant. Let's begin why this a rare 5-star hotspot on my opinon:
The Food: Fat Heads boasts a large menu that is centered around what I like to call Up-Scale bar items such as: Wings, Sandwiches (I mean Headwiches), Salads, assortment of fried things, Nachos (#Love), and of course in house craft beer as well as a wide selection of other noteworthy craft brews. Side Note: They also have a few Cider selections from the best Cider producer in the area: Arsenal!!!
Beer: I just mentioned this in the above, however it deserves another mention. Fat Heads has their own line of craft beer that any beer drinker can enjoy. In addition, they have a seasonal rotating wide selection of other breweries for one to choose from. Also as mentioned above, they have some Arsenal cider always on tap. Usually 2 - 3 types. Lastly, Liquor, I honestly don't know if they have liquor as the thought never crossed my mind to ask or request one and I don't feel like checking the online menu.
Atmosphere: The venue is open with ground floor seating that usually encompanies the view of a nearby flat screen TV. This place usually has ESPN or live sports on which is fine by me. Side Note: This place has outdoor like seating that is further covered and heated when the temp drops below 50.
TL;DR: Fat Heads is a Pittsburgh staple less known than another sandwich shop across town. This place has prime sandwiches, wings, salads, and everything in between. Sports bar for sure that has a wide rotating craft beer selection on tap and in bottle. Have an allergy, they offer Gluten Free rolls for all their sandwiches and believe, check me on this, a separate fryer as well.
