Beware. They are overselling what they actually do. Their commercials make their procedures sound almost magical in their promise to eliminate back pain with minimally invasive laser surgery. They very effectively leverage patient testimonials. The LSI doctor (Dr Meaghr) had told me he had reviewed my images and was happy to tell me that he wouldn't have to do extensive surgery. He would be making small incisions and was going to be able to eliminate my pain. Sounded EXACTLY like what I had heard in the commercials and testimonials! What they didn't tell me was that the procedure only provides temporary relief. I am 6 months post procedure and right back where I was (pain-wise) before surgery. I called LSI to tell them that my pain had been returning and I was asked by the nurse if I had been doing the recommended exercises. I told her that I had been but the pain is making it difficult to do so. I asked if I could go to a physical therapist to help determine if I should be doing things differently. She arranged a referral.
I requested my surgical records from LSI and took them a physical therapist and after reading the records the therapist says "of course you are feeling pain. The procedure just temporarily destroyed the nerves, but they grow right back". He could tell by my expression that I was learning that for the first time.
They have my money that I paid up front. They have all the money they were able to bill my insurance company. Now they are coming after me for more money.
Also worth knowing is that when I was at the facility the day after my surgery for the follow up I was approached in the waiting area and pressed to give a testimonial. I was still numbed by the nerve block and on the strong pain killers they prescribed. I told her that I was feeling great, but would need to wait until the drugs wore off to give a testimonial. They never asked for a testimonial after that. So there is a good chance that all of their testimonials are worthless.
