| - In recent months I must say that I have had only five star experiences with Centurion. Our AC had quit, the second time in six months. I submitted the repair via the web portal for maintenance, it was dispatched immediately the next working day which was relayed to me via an email, and when I had not heard from the vendor by the afternoon I called Centurion for assistance. They provided the contact info to me, I notified the Vendor directly of our circumstances and "Tim" arrived at our property about three hours later. Not only was Centurion responsive and helpful, but the staff with the Vendor/company were awesome themselves. While our family member ended up in the ER due to the excessive heat, I knew well that many were working to help us get our unit up as soon as possible from both Centurion and the vendor for the AC company.
We have rented for nearly five years now in the same home with Centurion. Initially I agree the first few years of our experience with Centurion were, complicated and difficult. I too was very frustrated and disappointed by the management at that time. However since the new management with Platinum Group, I have noted improved procedures, implementation of "ease of use" portals for payments, responsive replies, quickly handled maintenance requests for us and the team that does the inspections of the property are always super quick, helpful and professional. The office staff too has always been helpful, receptive and kind when I have had to contact them directly, notably Maddie, she is on her game! Also the ladies who have done our home inspections, Kim and Theresa have been super accommodating with schedules and efficiency. :)
As a homeowner myself who also rents to tenants out of state, I am aware of the vast responsibilities of a good property management company. It is a difficult balance to maintain. Property management is a complicated, difficult and unique beast with all of the laws and requirements required. I interviewed 26 different companies in N. California before choosing one out of five that I felt were "worthy" of my business. Your primary hope is to have a property management company that understands how important it is to also have good tenants in your property who will take care of it, pay their rent in a timely manner and also able to keep up with the demands and needs of the property in terms of repairs, collection of rent, etc. It goes both ways. The tenants are just as important to landlords if they are paying the rent on time, are taking care of the property and are able to be stable in their tenancy, which insures the property mgmt. company has done their due diligence. If the property management companies do not work well with tenants, they too will suffer with regard to their reputation in our community. I myself have only had positive experiences with Platinum Group/Centurion in the past few years and wanted to share my story for others to hear.
