If I was just reviewing based on their one beer that I love and their atmosphere, it probably would have been 4 stars but when you add in their food options it definitely drops down to a solid three.
The Sugar Creek Raspberry White Ale is a solid tasty wheat ale and is my favorite of their flagship beers; I've even noticed that it has started to be distributed around Charlotte and surrounding areas.
Their food however is another story - the last time we were there we ordered the Black Bean Nachos, the Red Pepper Hummus and the Say Cheese Paninis. The food arrived quickly but evidently not fast enough since all the chips in the Black Bean Nachos were incredibly stale and brittle. Their Red Pepper Hummus tasted like I was eating dirt and the Say Cheese Paninis was like I was eating a tri-color cheese sandwich that was cold and lacking all flavor.
The servers were nice and attentive but unfortunately did not make up for their food. Even though I like their theme and inside atmosphere, their Raspberry White Ale is the only thing keeping them on my radar within the Charlotte Beer scene - otherwise I think I would let their hot air balloon transport me over to a different brewery.
