So I've brought my dogs to Zen Dog a few times, normally without issues. It's a quick & easy way to get them groomed when my normal groomer (Whitney's Pawlished Pets) is booked.
But after today- I will never bring my 3 dogs there again. I have a sport retriever, a yorkie & a golden doodle. My poor goldendoodle had one of his nails cut so short that he was bleeding everywhere. When my husband picked the dogs up, he didn't notice because there's always a little chaos w/ 3 dogs being excited to see their owner- and he was trying to pay at the same time. When they got into the backseat- he saw red everywhere but thought it was from makeup or something that spilled. It wasn't til we got home & my poor golden doodle climbed on our light gray couch that he was bleeding profusely.
I called Zen Dog to tell them what happened & they blamed it on my dog maybe scuffing his paw on the way out- but the cut was so deep, there's no way that this was possible. They told me to make a paste with corn starch & water to stop the bleeding- but I had already done that (because I remember the vet telling me that trick if I ever cut too close to the nail bed).
All I can say is that I'm horrified that they didn't notice that or bring it to my husbands attention if they did. Of course everyone makes mistakes- and I feel like this is a pretty common one to check for if you are grooming an animal.
