  • The 4 stars is for the district manager's excellent customer service. I've bought a lot of furniture through the years at Pruitt's and have always been happy. As far as the bed we bought... no stars. TOXIC MATTRESSES: First let me say that Kyle, the District Manager, is one of the best people I've ever met. His customer service is outstanding. He makes you feel like he hears you and cares about your concerns. ANY NEW mattresses you buy are toxic, especially the memory foams. I have severe allergies from the chemicals and fire retardants that these beds are made with. The smell immediately makes me nauseous and sick. I ended up at the doctor, 3 days after we got the bed home, with dizziness. She said I was having a severe allergic response. We bought the Serta Perfect Sleeper bed and it didn't stink in the showroom, but the one we got delivered stunk really badly. This is rated one of the best mattresses in the world. This is the 2nd mattress we bought in 6 weeks where I couldn't stand the smell. We've done a lot of research the last few weeks and spoke to a lot of furniture experts. All new mattresses, especially memory foams are made with toxic materials and flame retardants. Please do your research before buying these and start demanding from the furniture companies that these mattresses be made like they used to be years ago. Our health is at risk. Think about what these materials are doing to your babies and children. We must all take action. Please protect yourselves, speak out. We can all make a change by our voices being heard. In the meantime, I'm forced to actually buy a used mattress. Never thought I'd say that, but I have no choice. We are buying a mattress this morning from a lady that claims the bed was only used in a guest room, she is very clean and has always kept a protective cover on the mattress, and no pets in the house. Please say a prayer for us that this bed is as she says it is. It's another Serta Perfect Sleeper, but an older model.
