5 stars for The Beach Boys because they definitely still play a great show! I hope to be half that spry when I'm in my 70's. At one point they made a joke about how they just played 5 songs without stopping and needed to take a break. Amazing!
1 star for the "VIP" experience. $50 covers admission, 3 drinks, a catered meal, and entrance for the VIP tent. For starters, the tent is about a football field away from the main stage, so you can't really see/hear much. The Deep Eddy cocktails were definitely tasty, but the catered food was unfortunately pretty bland. The only upside was being able to use the fancier trailer bathrooms instead of the porta-potties.
I expect carnivals to be expensive, but the Ostrich Festival prices were a bit outrageous. Like Disneyland-level price gauging. A turkey leg from Piggly's was $15 (+$2 if you want to use your credit card). Luckily it was insanely delicious. We didn't go on any rides, but those were also quite pricey. I just feel like an event sponsored by the Chandler Chamber of Commerce should be for the community, and that includes being affordable enough so that regular people can come and have a decent time.
