A creative pairing found at this adorable little shop in the heart of Chinatown. Rosso coffee and HK-style baked goods - how could you go wrong?
We found the fresh buns to be fluffy and fragrant, with generous fillings and lovely golden soft exteriors. The egg tarts were perhaps slightly on the undercooked side for my tastes. For take-out, a large selection of individually-packaged sweet and savoury buns is on offer. On a side note: wouldn't it be nice if shops like this got with the times and replaced their plastic wrappers with compostable options? We actually chose not to purchase buns to take home partly for this reason. That, and we were thoroughly stuffed and satisfied ;).
I'm a fan of Rosso coffee in general, and found the selection here up to their usual standards. The eat-in space is cozy, with a small selection of tables and armchairs/couches, decorated in a modern, brightly lit style with Chinese-inspired imagery and accents. Not the kind of coffee shop you'd go to try to get any work done, but suitable for a coffee date with a friend or to grab a quick bite.
