I purchased a 2018 Subaru Outback from this dealership in Jan. The sale went smoothly and I felt I was treated fairly. As part of the sale I purchased additional windshield coverage which provides a $5000 overall aggregate coverage and allows for replacement of OEM glass. The vehicle is equipped with eyesight, and I was told the coverage would allow for eyesight calibration at no additional charge at the dealership should anything happen. That is why I purchased the coverage.
Well unfortunately a week ago I took a rock through the windshield which cracked all the way across the passenger side. The claim went well and I was happy with Safelite who replaced the windshield. When I called to make an appointment with Auto Nation for the eyesight calibration the lady I spoke with didn't know anything about the coverage I purchased and said the calibration would cost $150. No way! After much back and forth she spoke with a supervisor who indicated there would not be a charge so the appointment was made. You would think that would have been written in my file.
Today I was in for the calibration and just had to go through the whole thing again with the service guy, who once again tried to charge me $150. Once again we had to go to a supervisor to get this done. This appears to be a training issue, which is a little odd when this is such a small dealership they should be able to just talk with one another. Appears no one knows how to submit the paperwork on the windshield insurance, so they just want to charge the customer and let the customer submit a claim for reimbursement. I get how this is easier for them, but it isn't good customer service.
Vehicle was returned within the time promised with everything calibrated and was washed.
