  • I first visited Petra for a spectacular Yelp event, and this time was the first opportunity to go there for dinner as a "civilian." I love the decor at this place, and wish it had been warmer so that we could have sat outside. We sat in the rear dining room, which is tastefully decorated. I ordered the large Petra special cocktail. It was good, but I had forgotten it was a frozen concoction, which I generally stay away from. I toughed it out, though, with just a little help from hubby. Before we could order our dinners, the manager, Yoni, passed by; he remembered us from the Yelp event and greeted us effusively. He also attended to us hands-on for the rest of the meal, along with our waitress, so our service was spectacular! We started with Saganaki, which was very good. I ordered the Moussaka, and my husband had the Chicken Souvlaki. His came with Petra fries, which are sprinkled with feta and come with a sauce on the side - absolutely delicious. He also ordered a side Horiatiki salad, which turned out to be a great choice. Unfortunately, I wasn't so lucky with my Moussaka. For starts, it wasn't hot, and the eggplant and potatoes weren't cooked enough. It was changed immediately for a fresh, hot one, but that didn't improve it. Without asking, it was taken off the bill, which I greatly appreciated. All in all, we'll definitely return. Great service, wonderful decor, mostly terrific food. Only next time I'll try a different entree.
