  • For upscale dining with arguably the most spectacular views in the Phoenix area, make sure you dine at Different Pointe of View! From the italian architecture that greets you at the entrance way to the open air patio with fountains and fire pits, you won't be disappointed! My companions and I dined inside with a panoramic view of the surrounding mountain peaks with the city lights sparkling below. For appetizers we had Chef's Fresh Hummus of the Day Shrimp Ravioli, Lobster Bisque, Chopped Romaine Salad, and Seared Berkshire Pork Belly. The ravioli was savory and fragrant. Eat it in tiny bites to squeeze out every bit of sumptuous flavor. The pork belly was the absolute best I have ever had and beats out any restaurant's preparation of it in my lifetime (no kidding). The pork belly was a generous 1.25 inch cut and so tender that it nearly melted in my mouth. Seasoned and cooked to perfection, it was a completely satisfying combination with the mashed potato and mushroom reduction. The lobster bisque maintained a delightful creaminess while being so thick that it did not drip off my spoon. It has a deep, smoky quality that I've never experienced with a lobster bisque in any other restaurant. If you've had lobster bisque before and either thought it was good, or have been disappointed, come here for THIS lobster bisque, which can outperform or redeem any experience you've had before. My companions had the Seared Diver Scallops for a main course and I had the Aleppo Seared Ahi from the starter menu. How many ways can I say "never had anything so good in my life?" The tuna was just spicy enough to bring warmth without overpowering the more delicate tuna flavor, the Amaranth, Cilantro, Cucumber, Lemon patty on the plate was a mouthful of fresh, cool, and a perfect counterpart to the spicy tuna. The Roasted Jalapeno Avocado Puree tied the spicier tuna and the cool and refreshing vegetable and herb patty together with savory creaminess. While we were dining, sun set and the lights of Phoenix below provided a spectacular backdrop. Be sure to stay for cocktails or a bottle of wine with friends on the outdoor patio on one of the elevated seating areas, or settle by a roaring fire pit. On warmer nights, sit near the cliffside fountain where the burbling water will make you feel cool despite the desert heat. Our taste ambassador, Cory, was amazing. I cannot call him a server or waiter - he was an exceptional ambassador to the wines as well as the menu offerings. The Executive Chef, Anthony DeMuro, even came out to our table to greet us. The old saying is "never trust a skinny chef." Trust THIS one! From this culinary experience at Different Point of View, I feel spoiled and have a sense that I'll need to let the memories of this restaurant fade before I can enjoy another.
