  • My husband and I, along with our neighbors, have been patrons of Moto for the last five years. Between the six adults, we have had decent experiences and have enjoyed the food. Unfortunately, this evenings experience will likely cause all of us to never return, and tell people not to go. My husband and two friends went into Moto tonight to grab a drink and food to go. They sat at the bar and were served by Charity. When they walked in they ordered a drink and some sashimi to go. My husbands friend paid for this immediately. They enjoyed their drink and waited for the other to go food they ordered. Charity placed the bill in front of them and the credit card was placed on the bill. The credit card was run and then signed. Charity was tipped. They finished their drink and the food was placed down in front of them. For absolutely no reason, a man, later learned to be Enrique, from behind the bar snatched the food off of the bar stating that they had not paid for the food. When my husband told him they had paid and showed the receipt, Enrique disputed that the signed receipt was for the food that had just been handed to them. Enrique proceeded to go to the other side of the bar with the food that they had already paid for. During this interaction he was very disrespectful, implying that they were going to walk on the bill. The bill that they had already paid. Charity had to convince Enrique that the bill had been paid before she returned the food. She apologized and said "that was my fault". Charity and Enrique continued to argue as my husband and his friends left. This was not Charity's fault. Enrique was out of line, disrespectful and blamed paying customers of attempting to steal. Awful. After they got home, my husbands friend called to speak with a manager or the owner. Enrique answered the call and when my husbands friend indicated he was calling to speak with a manager about this situation, Enrique immediately became defensive. He went so far as to tell my husbands friend to come back to the restaurant to "settle the issue". He refused to put him into a manager or provide the owners information. They never received an apology from Enrique. Had Enrique just apologized for the miscommunication between the staff, this review would not have been posted.
