| - A word of warning: Get it ALL in writing. Even off-the-cuff remarks from a seemingly-trustworthy employee.
Our complete story at http://jeepdon.wordpress.com/2012/01/14/buying-a-car-shouldnt-be-hard/
The short version: After waiting for our new truck for more than a month (although originally told it would "arrive in a few days" by more than one person, which they altered denied) we will be collecting a refund check. We took our trade-in back (yes, after a MONTH) and drove right over to Findlay Toyota. Why? Even though our truck finally arrived, **it wasn't what we'd bought.** It was missing the entire tow package, a somewhat crucial component for us. And even though WE managed to stroke a check the day we paid for the thing, THEY couldn't issue a full refund because it wasn't a business day. Classy, classy, classy, all the way. If they'd sold us the truck they originally proposed for us, we'd probably be driving it right now. They kept searching for a cheaper alternative because they didn't like the margin they were getting on that truck, I'm betting. If only they'd noticed that the "additional margin" was our missing tow package.
All the while, we got what we felt were halfhearted apologies and not a single offer to try and do ANYTHING to make the situation right or better. In the same phone call where they'd apologize, we'd get ANOTHER promise of a delivery date - which they'd miss.
In fact, instead of getting it all in writing... go somewhere else. Buy a Nissan if you're into that, just not from the Towbin family (who owns these guys).
