| - We tried Stacy's on the strong recommendation from others on Yelp on 6/17. My wife and I went there with the intent of sampling as much as possible. We ordered one serving each of the pork ribs, fried chicken, pulled pork sandwich, ranch beans, onion rings, cornbread, cheddar biscuit, hush puppies, garlic toast, and banana pudding.
We arrived at 5pm and there was no one in line and one couple waiting for their food.
First impressions and how you treat your customers matter. We got the immediate impression from the woman behind the counter, Nicole, that she did not care for our business. We informed her that it was our first time there and we wanted her recommendation and if they had a sample/combo plate similar to what other BBQ establishments offer. She stated, "Everythings good." and "We don't do that here.". She then excused herself while we were giving her our order so that she could complain to Stacy and others about a co-worker not coming in to work. Inexcusable customer service.
We waited 54minutes for our food!!!!! When we finally did get it, it was far short of expectations. The highlight was the fried chicken which was very good, with a crispy crust and moist meat by far the best we've had in town. The pulled pork sandwich was also above average as the BBQ sauce the meat was drenched in was very very good.
The pork ribs were a major let down. They were dry and required some serious jaw power to pull of the bone and lacked flavor once you got through the mounds of sauce they were drowning in.
The hush puppies were flavorless and in need of recipe makeover, as did the ranch style beans that tasted not unlike something you'd get from a store bought can.
The onion rings had a great crust, but by the time they were served were already cold. The cheddar biscuit, garlic toast, and banana pudding were all unremarkable and fair given their price.
Given the customer service issues, there are more deserving BBQ places in town to spend your money of equal or better quality.
