As requested per the application process, I gave Windermere my current and previous addresses; current and previous landlords; current employment with contact names and numbers; personal references; social security number. Additionally, the co-signer gave all of the same info. However, Windermere failed to process the entire application. They only ran a credit report which allows them the keep the application fee. Their decision was based solely upon a credit score and not upon the rest of the requested information. My conclusion: their actions may or may not be legal, but they are certainly unethical. My trust in Windermere has been broken. Why ask for so much personal information when it is not needed or included in the decision making process? Answer: its just a charade.
