| - Horrible experience!
My husband and I who have been Nissan drivers for about 12 years however, we were impressed with the research we had done on Kia's. We were looking at a Soul and a Sorrento.
We went to Kia Sands where we were promptly greeted by a sales person and we told him what we were looking for, took a couple of test drives and got down to business. After they ran our credit they seemed even more excited to make a deal happen, almost overly animated. This is where things started to unravel and raise red flags. Our salesman was joined by a finance guy who started the game of what do you want to pay, etc. and we told them what we wanted our payments to be for both vehicles and he took it to the "wizard" and came back and told us it wasn't going to work, at what we wanted to pay. He followed that up with, "we're looking at 80k in cars here". I corrected him and said it was actually 50k and he wanted to argue with me until I painfully spelled out both sale prices then he just mumbled something and walked off. At that point we had a bad vibe and decided to step away and regroup. The initial plan was to call and speak with someone in fleet sales, like we have with Nissan. Our hope was a smoother experience with less BS.
That night we actually received an email from Kia asking why we didn't buy that day and to contact Jon Turner, General Manager if we had any questions, or if he could help in any way. My husband called the following day and asked to speak with Mr. Turner and he was told that he wasn't in, she didn't know if/when he would be in and she didn't keep track of his schedule. Ok, another poor customer service experience but we tried again by contacting Mr. Turner via the email that he sent us. There was no response for two days then my husband received a call from another gentleman who could barely speak English and had no clue as to why he was calling, he was just "told to call".
Needless to say, we had enough at this point. The next week we purchased from Peoria Nissan and had a seamless and very pleasant experience. We get new vehicles approximately every 3-4 years and we have dealt with Nissan for the past 12 years, I'm guessing that won't be changing anytime soon.
Ugh, Sands Kia get it together!
