| - This is an outstanding museum that could easily take you all day to really tour. No worries there, however, as they have a very good restaurant to stop at, get off your feet, and enjoy lunch. The restaurant really has quality food at reasonable prices. They even have gluten free options. The museum is wheelchair friendly with restrooms on both floors. They even have plenty to entertain children. The best spot for all guest, but especially children is their Experience Gallery which offers hands on to many different instruments. The Mechanical Music Gallery is not hands on, but very entertaining.
The exhibits are located on two floors and divided up by regions of the world. They make it a great experience by providing headsets that play automatically has you approach the different exhibits to give you additional information about what your viewing. If you have headsets of your own I would recommend bringing them as the ones provided can become quite uncomfortable after awhile.
They have so many signature events that seem to be offered once a month on weekends and feature different countries or musicians. Featuring France, the Andes, India, the Alps just to name a few. During these events they often have face painters for children (maybe for an additional fee), a table with some type of craft to make and much more on the region they are featuring. The restaurant even offers some cuisine from the region being featured.
This is really a museum that could warrant multiple visits so if there's just two of you going a dual membership is a great value. It's $100.00 for the year, but is for the main person who signs up plus one. So you have the opportunity to go with different family members or friends. A membership is also great as it would then take the pressure off to try and see everything in one visit.
