  • Definitely a budget motel, notwithstanding the chain name. If you have low expectations and have minimal needs and expectations, it's ok. 3 piks attached, a mouse trap under the stairs, within 20' of the office; the discolor on the cement (throughout, particularly on the stairs), and on the second level, the walkway is not even, although I have to concede the 2nd floor walkway on the American Best Value Inn next door, is even worse... doors are in a variety of repair states, regular vaccuming under the beds not evidenced, the bathtub water knobs are reversed more often than not. On the plus side, decent location, a/c units in better shape than those at the ABV Inn next door. In actuality, both the HJ and the ABV next door should be torn down and at some point I'm sure that will happen, but for the time being if your needs are minimal, enjoy the rates (no resort fee).
