| - All these down yelp reviews are wrong. I came onto yelp to see what people thought about this place and almost didn't come because of the stars and bad reviews. I went anyways and I had a great time! Also, DUH there are kids everywhere it's an aquarium. A KID thing to do. So have some patience and their little attention spans will be onto the next thing quick. Nice place to go on a hot day.
I went to the aquarium today with my boyfriend and it was nice. They don't have a lot of exotic fishes, most of them are ones that would be in a river. Also, most their tanks are pretty big for the freshwater turtles, fishes, and more. I do think the sea otters and sea lions need a bigger tank because they love to swim so much. I was watching them swim back and forth and I was bored just watching so I could only Imagine how those intelligent animals feel. Overall, this is a great place to go to with kids, family, or significant other. Makes you feel like a giant big kid.
One thing they MUST improve though is the sinks by the touch water tanks. There wasn't any soap!! It was disgusting. And there was a good section right by it so you're telling me not one of those kids washed their hands after dunking their hands in those touch tanks. Ew.
Honestly, for this aquarium to be in the middle of the dessert, it's a great place. It brings education to some of the endangered fish and animals. Also, there aren't a lot of crazy exotic animals there. The only exotic thing is maybe the sea lions and sea otters. Out of two of the three sea turtles they had, 2 were rescues. Quit all the negativity and take a trip to this place. Yeah it's sad animals/fish are in a tank but I'd rather they take care of them then abuse them and eat them so just go and learn some stuff!
