Called three days in a row to get an appointment.
Day one: Dumped into voicemail during business hours. Left a detailed message, call not returned.
Day two:
"Fax over the referral from your doctor."
"I don't have a fax, can I just bring it to my appointment?"
"Sure."
"Ok, when can I get in to see the doctor?"
"Not until you fax in your referral."
Hung up and went down to OfficeMax to fax over the referral. No one called back.
Day three:
"I need to make an appointment. I faxed in my referral yesterday."
"Okay hold on."
PUT ON HOLD FOR 18 minutes before being disconnected.
Called back, dumped into voicemail. Left another message, pleading for an appointment. No one called back.
So, three things:
- If you're in the business of helping people in excruciating pain, maybe make an effort to treat them with some speed.
- If you do business in this century, stop asking for faxes and let people email forms to you.
- If you can't be bothered to make an appointment for someone, DON'T TELL MY PROVIDER THAT YOU'RE ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS.
