| - I'm giving this Discount Tire store in the Scottsdale Pavilion a five star review because of their amazing customer service! If you want the short story of my review just scroll down!
Long Story:
The decision to buy tires was made on a whim. I had been putting off this issue for several month but today my husband finally convinced me for numerous reasons. Our tires were now extremely bald and the rubber had bad dry rot. In addition, the extreme heat from the summer season made us nervous about the possibility of popping a tire! Moreover, we take our 2008 Honda Ridgeline on light to intermediate trail riding; so we were also hoping to upgrade our street tires to all terrain tires.
My husband had been researching online for tires and, at first, we did not want to go to Discount Tires. Their website had quoted him for $1000 for four all-terrain tires. So instead we checked out Big-O Tires to get a quote from them. They quoted us for about $825 with even bigger tires! We were really excited at first, but when I tried to apply for their financing program they said I would be approved in 7 to 10 business days; which was fine. However, their 'Buy 3 tires, get 1 free' deal was expiring and it would cost over $1000 by the time I got approved. This was when we gave up and went to Discount Tires.
When we walked in and a store associate was able to help us immediately, even though the place was very busy. We had the pleasure of Billy to help us find and buy tires. He was incredibly knowledgeable! The most amazing thing? The whole process took less than 15 minutes! He even helped us realize that the bigger tires that Big-O was trying to sell us wouldn't have fit our truck. (I had even asked the worker at Big-O if it would rub on the wheel wells, but he "claimed" that it wouldn't.) Discount Tires had a database system on their computer which showed what tires were rated too small or too big for your specific make and model! So helpful!
Billy was able to find us four all-terrain tires for under $600 dollars including the installation fees, but this was without their warranty. Unfortunately it was not within our budget. After filling out paperwork for financing I was immediately approved for $500. This was all done within 15 minutes. The professionalism of Billy and reasonable quality of Discount Tires made it easy for us to purchase some badly needed tires.
After we bought our tires Billy said that it would only take an hour for the installation. So we just hung out in the Pavilions until then. The only hiccup that happened during our visit was that it took a little over their quoted time. We were expecting the truck to be ready by 4:30pm but it was finished around 4:43pm; which honestly was not a big deal because it was really busy. In actuality, we were surprised they could even help us and were ecstatic that they could install our tires the same day because the place was so packed.
But even so, a store associate named Johnny apologized for the wait, assured that they were finishing soon, and thanked us for our business. It was honestly refreshing to receive such personable customer service! When we picked up our truck, yet another store associate, named Jordan, genuinely apologized for going over the service time and appreciatively thanked us for coming in today. Even the worker who put the last valve cap on the tires was very friendly and kindly bid us a farewell!
The employees here are so impressive. They are accommodating and quick to meet your needs. They work in the sweltering heat and in a fast paced environment. But after everything they still maintain a wonderfully pleasant attitude when interacting with their customers! The employees at this Discount Tire Store are truly outstanding!
Short Story:
The Good-
1. Was able to walk in without an appointment and purchase tires with same day installation, even though it was busy.
2. Found the tires we wanted and within our budget.
3. Was able to be approved for financing immediately.
4. Took a little over an hour for installation right after purchasing, even though it was busy.
5. Their customer service is the best of the best!
The Bad-
NOTHING! I'm not extremely picky, but it takes a great business (or very horrible one) for me to write a yelp review. I can imagine some people not liking the wait time, but seriously, its the summer time and tire season is in! An hour wait is nothing if you know how to kill time.
