  • I've stayed at the Westin a couple of times over the years and have always had a pleasant experience. The resort itself feels nothing like Vegas so it's always been a nice little staycation spot for me as a local. Although the property is still pretty this particular visit was a little disappointing. We arrived around 1pm wanting to go to the pool until our room was ready (check in is 4) we did an early check in and had the bell desk hold our bags. The front desk rep said she would give us a call if our lake view room became available early. She was pleasant and so were the bellman. We headed to the pool and inquired about a cabana which we purchased. The young men at the activities desk were very sweet and personable. We were excited to unwind and have a pina colada on our day off. The waitress Claudia I believe her name was did not even greet us for ONE HOUR (not an exaggeration) at which point we had gotten up to the bar to get 100$ worth of drinks. We saw her in our area about half a dozen times with zero acknowledgement and she did not look busy in the least. Surely a guest who is paying extra for a cabana should have been a priority. Apparently not at the Westin pool. Instead of eating lunch at the pool and ordering more drinks we decided to go to another restaurant not on property due to our frustration. Our room was ready by the time we left lunch and the bellman promptly brought our luggage up.The room itself was clean but my god how paper thin the walls are! We were woken up 3x during the night. At one point ordering mediocre room service (although the room service staff was very pleasant the food was below average). Check out is at 11 and we couldn't even sleep in. When I say you could hear every footstep and movement I'm not exaggerating. Not sure if it was the maids banging around or other guests. But I've never been awoken more times in any hotel stay in my life. Also a late check out was denied due to being "sold out" so we dragged ourselves out of bed on a broken night of sleep and went back home. Not having the energy to paddle board like we had planned. I think next time we will try another hotel.
