| - I called into Costco Arrowhead (17550 N 79th Ave, Glendale, AZ 85308 623-776-4003) and spoke w/ Mike in the membership department at 5p today, Jan 7, 2017 to find out about a business account, as I would like supplies delivered to my dental practice vs me going to Costco to pick items up like I currently do now w/ my Executive membership. Mike spoke very condescendingly to me, as he explained how I had to go to the Costco Business center in Phoenix to open a Business account. I told him that I didn't understand this because his location sells business memberships and the last time I was there, a Costco rep had told me the benefits of business membership. I was only calling to be sure that I had the correct business documents to open the account. Mike had a very patronizing tone and spoke very slowly to me, as to think that I couldn't speak or understand English. I asked him if he thought I didn't understand him because of this and asked him not to speak to me slowly. He then told me he would prefer that I go to the Indian School Costco business and take care of my business membership there and that the business center sells "amazing kitchen appliances". I told him that I really just wanted envelopes, water, paper, etc delivered to my office, not kitchen appliances. He continued to speak slowly and loudly to me, which irritated me and I still could not understand why he would do this, as I do not have any type of accent and only speak English. I again told him not to do this, and then ended the conversation, as he did not seem apologetic nor did he change his attitude. I think if Mike is dealing with customers or even co-workers, he really needs some customer service training to speak respectfully and professionally...and if he is having a bad day, he should just go home.
