| - This diner/deli and bakery restaurant features many enticing treats, sweets, and, bagels... oh, my! It has a New York feel, which included its patrons, along with Kosher items.
Inside the dining area, the menu is listed on a nostalgic newspaper. I had the special listed on the white board: asparagus with goat cheese omelette with French Vanilla coffee. The eggs were right up my ally, light and fluffy, a sign that they were cooked low and slow. The asparagus was young and tender, chopped small resembling green onions, and the serving was generous. That, with creamy goat cheese, was a very satisfying dish. The toast was made from homemade wheat bread, thick and light. The bill was fifteen dollars... The quality of the food in relation to the price trumps the quantity, along with the wait (there is a disclaimer on the menu that your order can take 20 minutes.) The coffee was aromatic and flavorful. Service was standard, nothing to write home about.
I could not stop there, though, and had to take something home. The chicken pot pie looked too good to pass up. Reheated, the gravy was buttery and creamy, reminding me of a rich cream base you would find a clam chowder, just with chicken.
I will return with a few things to on my mind to try, including the lox, and the huge eclair.
