  • Another win for NJC owner, James. This, their third permanent location, is prime Uptown real estate. Adjacent to Romare Bearden Park and BB&T Ballpark, this place is ideal for the live-work-play Uptowners that reside in the nearby apartments, lofts, and condominiums commuting to and from work on foot each day. Even traditional commuters can pop in to grab their morning Joe to go as they exit the nearby parking garages en route to their Uptown offices. Better yet, like most non clock punching corporate slackers, stumble up to your office long enough to show your face and drop your briefcase. Then just head back down to get your caffeine fix. Shhhhh -- No one will notice you're gone once you've made an appearance. And if you run into your coworkers waiting in line next to you, they can't really say much, now can they? Bicycle parking is available in most nearby garages, and there's a small bike rack outside around the left corner that is visible from inside. Unless you're parking in a garage for other reasons, it's not really worth it to visit in your vehicle. You'll pay more for parking than you will for your cup of coffee. The storefront offers a retail facet to the HQ Charlotte coworking space; joined now by Ink & Ivy. Pull up a stool and open your laptop to a backdrop of foot traffic and cars passing by. The space is bright, unlike your stereotypical coffeehouse. It's not too large and not too small, but there's additional space that can be utilized by patrons in the HQ area if it is not otherwise spoken for. Aside from bar style window seating with modern stools and a few smaller outdoor tables, there's a fun community table crafted of raw wood material. There's a small pastry case that will display their pop tart flavors of the day. Yes, that's right, they sell pop tarts! No, not individual Kellogg's brand toaster snacks from your childhood, but real handcrafted pastry pockets in rotating fresh fruit flavors. You should definitely try one! Or four! The pop tarts, and other limited menu items, make this NJC location unique, as it is the only location offering said tasty bites. The avocado toast is a must try as well! The WiFi is usually reliable and the coffees that you've come to know and love at the other NJC locations are aplenty. Pour-over pros await you behind the bar, so get there and see for yourself! ~~~~~WAKE UP~~~~~
