  • WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY! Long story short, $80 for a gel manicure and each day since then they have been chipping and falling off! My husband and I love Vegas, we go a few times a year and stay at various MGM properties. We had not stayed at Vdara in a while so we booked it for our most recent visit. Regardless of where we stay I will usually treat myself to a gel manicure at Mirage because they always last me a good 3 to 4 weeks. We were short on time this trip so I decided to try the Espa Spa at Vdara, after all they just received their 5-star rating. I was booked at noon on Friday, but we were running late and when I called to reschedule they kindly said I could come at 3 instead. I was thankful they were so accommodating. Nail room was clean and nice looking, the technician was nice and welcoming she offered me water or tea. I was a little surprised they didn't offer any champagne, this is Vegas! Services were nice and I enjoyed my time. Later that night I noticed a small chip in one of my nails. I called Saturday morning and they said I could come in and have it repaired later that afternoon. We arranged our day to be back at the hotel so the chip in my gel nail could be fixed. The same technician I had on Friday repaired it and was apologetic. Saturday night I was washing my hands before dinner and one entire nail fell off. This is day two of my gel manicure. At this point I'm furious, the gel manicure cost me $80 and all of my gel manicures have always lasted me between 2 and 4 weeks (even the cheap places I can get 2 weeks out of). I called early Sunday morning to request another repair, the earliest they could get me in was 10:30, this would have ruined our morning brunch plans so I decided to go back right before we left for the airport. I had a new technician this time and she basically told me it was my fault because in Vegas you are typically a lot rougher on your nails, she asked if I played slots the night before. I was pretty offended by this. It was not my fault; the manicure was not done properly or they wouldn't be falling off after two days. I get them at Mirage a few times a year and they always last, even through 'rough Vegas treatment'. She fixed it at least. Monday night I'm now home and another nail just fell completely off. The only saving grace is that they did fully refund my money when I asked. Don't waste your time or money with the gel manicures - it's a waste. Check out the Mirage instead, same price, they last 4 weeks and they offer you champagne!
