We enrolled our child at Valley while I was still pregnant and frankly we didn't know what we were looking for. The teachers and director seemed nice and took their time with us so we felt comfortable. Our son started at 11 weeks in the infant room. Initially things were fine, they really helped us to get him to take a bottle. However over the course of the 2 months he was there, it became evident that the care he was receiving was not what we expected. A lot of turnover and people "helping" in the room. Often I would go to pick up my son and there would be another new person I had never met caring for him. Moreover, they never introduced themselves or seemed to know what was going on with him. Every time I would pick him up he was in a bouncer seat (rarely being held or tummy time etc.) and I'm not sure they really were staffed or equipped to do more than put the kids through an assembly line...diaper change, feed, set down, repeat with the next kid. Miss Allison was great but she was only there until 2 and she's only one person. We had several communication issues with feeding (for example we had a situation where he went through his bottles quickly and ran out of his milk but forgot to use the back-up frozen milk, nor did they call us so they just didn't feed him for four hours- at that point he was only 16 weeks old). We got him in a new center not too long after that. I received a call after we took him out asking why, when I explained the issues and lack of communication, I was met with excuses over and over again. It's clear that the leadership is unwilling to accept feedback without getting defensive. Communication is key, many of these issues could have been avoided by simply drafting a newsletter to parents about staff changes or picking up the phone...
