  • The husband and I were really excited to try out this place after hearing so many positive reviews from our friends & reading them here on Yelp. Sadly, there were several things that left us feeling pretty disappointed. The good: Their ambiance and decor is pretty cool. It kind of has a modern vintage vibe. It looks & feels like a foodie restaurant for sure. Our server was extremely attentive & patient with us while we figured out what to order. (We had 2 servers, a girl & a guy. The guy was especially attentive.) The disappointing: When we arrived, the server offered us water. Great, except that it was luke warm and tasted kind of gross. We had to ask for ice. It was just strange to me that they wouldn't offer chilled water or at the very least have glasses with ice. And she only filled up my glass halfway. At least she did leave the bottle at our table. The server didn't bring out the bread (more like cheese cracker things?) until after we had ordered, despite asking about 10 minutes before we ordered if we wanted her to bring it out. And she wasn't even the one who took our order. I was a little confused why it took so long. We ordered the hummus to share, and honestly, I was pretty disappointed. I love hummus (and I'm not even that picky about it!) It was fine, but not anything special. And some of the pieces of pita bread tasted (and looked) burnt. I ordered the margherita pizza. Again, I was disappointed. I have had many different artisan pizzas and I wouldn't order it from here again. It just felt like nothing special. I will say I liked the tomato sauce (though my husband said that was his least favorite). Husband ordered the burger with the egg & bacon extras. I tried it. It was fine & he liked it, but again, nothing special. I didn't finish the pizza & the server offered a box. I didn't realize he was going to take it to the back. I'm honestly not a fan of restaurants boxing leftovers out of sight & I think they should consider changing that policy. What really weirded me out is that he dropped the check off, picked the check up, ran my card and brought the final check back. And then about 5 minutes AFTER that, he brought my leftovers back. Yeah, I'm not going to eat that now Do I think they likely messed with it? Probably not. But why in the world would they take 10+ minutes to box up my leftovers? Honestly, so many of these things would have been forgivable if we had an awesome experience or if there were not so many disappointments. But everything combined together just made the experience unenjoyable (And I actually didn't even write out all of them). Frankly, I was really surprised because it just seems like it'd be an awesome artisan restaurant! Maybe we just got a lackluster menu (I know their menu rotates). Maybe we went on a bad day. Who knows. But I doubt we'll be back. Bummer. $50 for an only okay experience is just not worth it to us. Especially since we only ordered the from (less expensive) lunch menu.
