I got a reasonable deal via Expedia. I didn't realize it's because it was prepaid, but I didn't cancel so I suppose it's not that big a deal. I made the reservation a month in advance for an early morning pickup because of a red eye flight. The reservation was for a compact, Ford Focus or similar.
The rental car places are now right across from baggage claim at the terminal, so no more off-site and shuttle to deal with. There was one employee there at 6 AM when I was ready to get my car. It took way too long considering I had a reservation. I guess the pace of business must just be different here. I was told to go upstairs to the garage and pick anything in the "COMPACT" row.
Guess what? No Ford Focus or similar as stated. They were a bunch of micro cars, Hyundais, cheapo Kias, etc. All were a couple years old and every single one of them had body damage. It looked like they'd been used as rally cars or something. The reservation said the vehicle would be capable of holding 5 people and 3 pieces of luggage. There was ONE car in that row capable of doing so, so I took it. The checkout from there was simple, a very nice lady at the little guard shack who was pleasant and cheerful.
Rental went fine, return was the fastest yet other than the poor signage coming back into the garage where the return side is.
