  • I will start first by saying that the mac and cheese with cauliflower, fennel and spinach was delicious and french fries perfectly cooked and seasoned. We visited the Food Truck Round-Up at The Brew Gentlemen in February. By the time we got to Braddock at 5:30 PM, the crowds were crushing. We decided to get in line for tacos and then get the mac and cheese after. The lines for each truck in the parking lot were long and wound together like braids. We pushed through the crowd asking 'Is this the line for tacos?' After waiting for an hour and a half to get our tacos, we did not feel like waiting in line another hour for that mac and cheese. Why did we not each separately wait in different lines? I was entertaining my toddler grandson as the minutes dragged on. This is not a good place to bring young children during the busy times. After saying I would never return, we did return again this month. We arrived about 4:30 PM ready for the 5 PM opening. Several of the trucks were open for business when we arrived. Leona's was already doing business inside the brewery. The Brew Gentlemen was busy, but the crowds around the food trucks were still sparse. The Mac & Gold Truck was not open, so my daughter waited in front of it to be at the beginning of the line. As it got closer to 5 PM, I went to get food for our main course, while she stood waiting in front of The Mac & Gold Truck. I came back with our other food, and she was still waiting behind that first-in-line couple. The truck opened at 5 PM, and she ordered as the 2nd customer. I took the other food to the car and returned to wait with her. She had placed our order for french fries, the prosciutto and peas mac, and two Mexican cokes. We waited about 10 minutes for that order, while I noticed that other people came up and left with containers. I asked her if they were doing online orders. She said those people ordered the plain mac & cheese. The server handed us two opened bottles of Coke about 5 minutes before our food order. We did not want opened bottles, because we were returning home with our food.. I suggest that the server ask first before opening any drinks. At last our order came, and we left for home to enjoy. What a surprise then when we opened the box to find the mac and cheese with cauliflower, fennel and spinach. It was delicious, but it was not what we ordered; and there was a $1.00 difference in price to our disadvantage. We ate it because returning to wait in line for either the right order or the $1.00 was not an option we entertained. The slow service and getting the wrong order is difficult to understand considering we were second in line. The food was good, so we will probably return for more; but next trip we will check for accuracy of our order which might just slow that line down a little more.
