  • I haven't shot skeet in years...at least 20. And I haven't fired my shotgun in about 10. Then a friend of mine told me about this place and invited me to join him for some clay target shooting. Wal Mart had a sale on 8 shot, and off we went. If you've never been, you kind of don't really know what's going on. There are several buildings and parking areas and ranges and no real signage telling you what is where. The wife and I asked a couple guys decked out in tactical gear (as most everyone was) if they knew where the clay target might be. These guys are the same no matter where you go....they talk to you like you're an idiot if you're not dressed from head to toe in canvas cargo tactical pants, tight t-shirts, shoulder holsters, wearing a beard and a camo hat. These type of guys are all over this range. Anyway, we finally found the right building....it's down at the far end by the gunsmith. Speaking of, they have a gunsmith and an ammo shop. You have to watch a video if it's your first time on the range. This skeet course is pretty darn cool. You load a debit card...30 bucks for 100 clay pigeons. I recommend at least 200 or better yet, 300. You'll go through them quick. There is a walking trail with numerous pull stations. They start easy and get harder as you keep walking. It's all remote controlled and there's even water coolers with ice cold bottled water at several stations. You can go alone and operate the remotes without any problem. We noticed other shooters were polite to move along and pick up their shells, as did we. The whole course is well laid out, clean, and challenging to all skill levels. You can make it as hard or as easy as your skill set allows. Even the rangers driving the golf carts around were super friendly. If you go during the summer, there's not much shade so wear a hat and long sleeves or sunscreen. I'm looking forward to going back.
