| - After watching the Hangover we decided Vegas was the place to get it done. I sent out "save the dates" and before you knew it 41 people decided to follow us to Vegas. I really didn't mean for that to happen. We booked the $199 wedding package at Graceland Wedding Chapel, jumped on the plane, and off to Viva Las Vegas we were.
If you accidentally have everyone and their mother follow you to Graceland remain calm. The staff at Graceland is accommodating, but they also have 30 brides walking down the isle that day...15 minutes after you. Our party bus was 2 minutes late so the kind woman at the front desk let 4 brides, yes 4 weddings go on. We had to wait 45 minutes for the other weddings to finish before we could rock on with Elvis. The time passed, we gave the other couples their space, and the show went on. Our guest did have to wait in the Las Vegas heat...they lived to tell the story. Big whoop.
I was surprised to find out that our that Elvis wasn't ordained. You get married by a true minister before the Elvis shin-dig. He has an Irish ascent so it's kinda cool. When it's time to walk it's not corny. The Elvis was legit. The entire wedding is fun, silly, you'll laugh, do a little wiggle, and it's over. So my point is Las Vegas weddings that take place at Graceland are not meant for 41 people, but if you have a good sense of humor and your family isn't a bunch of wealthy, air conditioner vampires you'll have the best time ever.
So much love and thank yous to everyone at Graceland. We had the best time, and I think we broke a guest record at the chapel...and maybe the fire code.
