  • CUSTOMER SERVICE IS KEY. Recently bought 2 pair of Response Gear Side Zip II boots for work. For $29.99 a pair you can't beat it honestly. I'm typically a Bates boot guy because they're a great value and quality boot but at this point didn't want to pay $80-120 for any brand of boots. Response Gear are not the best but still suitable for my purposes and budget. Started wearing only one pair and after about 2 weeks of use the zipper busted on one boot. I was going to attempt to fix the zipper somewhere or just take it as a loss but decided to take them back to the store and see if they had a warranty. Took them in and spoke with a manager and showed the busted zipper. Without question or receipt, immediately offered me an exchange for a brand new pair of the same boot. Very pleased with my experience!! 5 stars for CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Again, Response Gear boots may not be the best especially since my Bates are over a year old and still usable in every way. But Big 5 did right by me with this and I will be back for boots and more.
