  • I needed to have my teeth cleaned and was super busy, so did not have much time to do research. The Yelp reviews for this office were decent, so I decided to give it a try. I don't like to give only 1 star because I feel like that often sounds too extreme, but if I could give this place 0 stars I would (and I do not have crazy expectations - I just reviewed another dentist office and gave them 5 stars). My main complaint pertains to the fact that the dentist, Dr. Tee, proposed I needed thousands of dollars of work that I did not. Here are the details: After taking all of 10 seconds to look at my X-rays, he said that I needed 5 fillings and a crown. I was a little shocked since I had work done not that long ago, and so asked if he could prioritize these - his response was that they were all urgent; his assistant followed that with a "you must take care of your dental hygiene", making me feel about 13 years old. Something smelled a little fishy, especially after I got two calls from their office because of their "concern" that I wasn't dealing with my dental issues. So, I decided to get a second opinion and I went to another dentist (after doing my homework this time - this new place had outstanding reviews). My new dentist found ONE tooth that was broken on one edge and so could use work but he also said that it wasn't critical - we are talking about thousands of dollars saved, not to mention unnecessary pain and time. The new dentist did mention that some of my fillings were silver and so at some point may need to be replaced, but said it was way to premature to do so now. While I acknowledge that different dentists may have slightly different opinions one would expect some overlap / agreement and there wasn't any between Dr. Tee and my new dentist. So I can only be left with the conclusion that Dr Tee and the Bright Now Office pushes unnecessary procedures to make money. There were other aspects of my experience that were not pleasant at Bright Now, and while I'm not as picky about these I'll mention them for the sake of completeness. The atmosphere was average - something about the place just did not inspire comfort or confidence, but it was fine. The cleaning process at Bright now took THREE hours - that has to be the longest teeth cleaning ever. Unfortunately time spent did not equal quality since most of the time corresponded to me sitting in the chair alone while they attended to other patients. The dentist was the one to floss my teeth and did it very half heartedly, not going all the way to the gum for about half of my teeth. The lady taking the X-rays was nice to begin with but was the one who scolded me about listing to the doctor about my apparent "cavities" (which it turned out did not exist - I'm still a little bitter about that one). The cleaning itself was fine, but subjectively speaking, my teeth just didn't feel as clean as they normally do. I wanted to file a complaint but I'm still waiting for the manager to call me back.
