  • The Trump Hotel was a classy experience no doubt for a fairly good price versus the other 5-star hotels. Just note, of course, that the cheaper price will be giving you a few less amenities than you would at the other Vegas classy establishments. The good stuff includes a terrific amount of service all-around (although trying to get my bags took a while for whatever reason on a Sunday afternoon), a really nice room with a small kitchen/a tub/a TV in the mirror/a spacious bathroom/a sofa + chairs (seems like a mini-suite in a 3 or 4 star hotel) and a pretty nice view. The elevators are all speedy. The fitness room is a little small but serviceable. The pool doesn't seem too shabby being a little higher than the 3rd or 4th floor for a fun view of Las Vegas. And if you're a big mall fan, Nordstrom/the Fashion Mall is literally a walk across the street. Super easy if you don't mind eating some of the mall eateries. Plus no smoke/casino if you're not into that. Some of the more meh items: Your resort fee is about a good $25+ a day. You do get good WiFi and access to the pool/fitness center and a few other things like free water per day. It does seem a little steep though versus the other resorts (even 3 or 4-star hotels) seem to offer. Also, the shower was a bit finicky with the water temperature settings along with a door handle that seems to have seen one too many slammed days. And of course, although it's not a far walk, the closest hotel/casino is the Wynn/Encore which is about a 10-minute walk either through the mall or through the dirt road which seems a little weird. It's also a very close walk to the back parts of Vegas which are a little dirtier to be aware of. And yeah, that train still is pretty darn close by and loves to toot its horn early in the morning. Still, I'm a fan of the hotel and for those looking for a five-star hotel without breaking the bank completely, it's not a bad choice. Taxi rides are generally about $10-$15 to get to most of the hotels around town and there's even a shuttle/airport shuttle (just ask for times ahead of time + the airport shuttle is $11).
