  • This hospital is terrible for medical issues. There is no gastroenterologist on staff. So, if you have any kind of stomach, intestine, liver issue....don't go here! The communication is terrible. Even though my family member (who was confused) repeatedly asked (and gave permission, power of attorney) for a doctor to tell me what was going on as well as I myself calling, NO PHYSICIAN EVER CALLED me back! This is for a hospital stay of over 1 week! The only time I was able to speak with a physician was when I flew in and happened to be there when he came in. When I called three days later asking to speak with the physician (since the patient was not getting better), I was told by the nurse that the doctor said that "they had just spoken with me." That was 3 days before! I am in the medical field and it is a given that you have to talk to the designated family member, especially when the patient is confused. I am shocked by the physicians' disregard. The nurses were pretty good and they answered what they could. I could go on and on. Bottom line is that they discharged my family member with them not being fully treated, now with decubitus ulcers (bedsores), and sent them to a skilled nursing facility where the day after, they had to call 911. This time he was taken to a good hospital. I would avoid this hospital if you have a choice.
