| - I'm a big ice cream lover and I love this place! Right in the heart of South End, but with both indoor/outdoor seating that's delightful.
They make excellent, creamy homemade ice cream with unique flavors. They usually have one rotating flavor. The staff is friendly and doesn't get frustrated to let you taste flavors. I think they are generous with their scoop sizes, and you can also get a "flight" of mini scoops so you can have several different flavors. Now let's talk flavors!
1. Dunkaroos - I love how unique this flavor is, but it's even BETTER as an ice cream sandwich. It's a big birthday cake treat, enough for two people to split if you want that.
2. Key Lime Pie - This was one of their rotating flavors and I loved it. Tart enough, and sweet enough, and the flavors really felt fresh. I hate artificial flavors and this has no trace of that!
3. Salted Oreo - I'm not usually a fan of salted anything, but I thought this one was unique with the Oreo combination. Worth a try.
The line is always out the door, but they move fairly quickly. One of my favorite things about Golden Cow is their commitment to the community and charity. They donate a portion of the proceeds of every scoop to charity through their "Queen's Share" program. They rotate charities, so I love to see what they're supporting. I love to support small businesses, the community, and ice cream, so this place is a win in my book.
