| - I stopped in to shop for a $35,000 truck and left having been disrespected.
I was working with a salesperson, whose name I can't recall, but he was very helpful. After looking over the Rams out front, we were going to take a ride to the back lot to look at more trucks. We waited outside the building for a few minutes when the salesperson came back out and informed us he was sorry, but he already had an appointment with someone else and he was going to find us another to help us. After waiting about 10 minutes we were greeted by our new salesperson, whose name was "Abdul" I believe.
The disrespect started immediately when I mentioned that I had a trade, my 2011 Dodge Challenger Rallye with 17,500 miles, on which we owe about $14,800. He informed me that my trade was useless and "upside down" because he's already selling new Challengers this weekend for $21,000. Okay then.
I let him know that I had planned on going to the back lot to look at more Rams with the other salesperson. He asked if I had looked at the trucks out front yet and I told him I had. Here's the kicker, word for word: "Are you planning on buying the truck today? Because, if not, we're pretty swamped." I told him I wasn't because my wife would need to be there, but she was unavailable to shop with me today. He said he'd go get the keys to a van, but the damage from that comment was done.
After stewing for about 5 minutes waiting for him to return, I finally I took my son, got in my Challenger and drove off the lot. I drove out to Big Two Toyota where I was treated with respect. I informed them I was shopping and probably wouldn't be making my purchase until Tuesday or Wednesday. They said, "Great! Let us show you what we have." The salesperson spent almost an hour with me showing me the features of the Toyota Tundra, which I returned to buy the next week.
Tempe Dodge...FAIL.
