| - Kiwanis Park.
I've fished here. I've eaten fish I caught here. I've ice-blocked here. I've played hooky from high school here. I've played lots of sand volleyball here. I've played lots of soccer here. I've coached lots of soccer here. I've kissed numerous girls here. I've had sex here. I've burnt my legs on the slides here. I've attended company picnics here. I've stolen things from here. I've chased a goose here. I've hidden from the cops here. I've gone on class field trips where you have to hold hands with your "buddy" here. I've jogged around that damn lake maybe a thousand times here. I've seen horses here. I've stepped in horseshit here. I've cried here. I've gotten drunk here. I've played practical jokes on friends here. I've fallen for a girl that eventually passed away here. I've fallen off various pieces of playground equipment here. I've lost clothing here. I've found money here. I've bled profusely here. I've injured my knees, ankles, back, elbows, and wrists here. I've run from thugs here. I've met people here. I've played indoor basketball, batted at the cages, and swam on the same day here. I've walked and pondered where my life was heading here. I've made memories here. I've chased people here. I've crashed parties for free grub and booze here. I've gotten pulled over here. I've had every meal of the day here. I've volunteered here. I've pushed someone in the lake here. I've had a MILF experience here. I've actually used the paddle-boats here. I've been scared here. I've been scarred here. I've watched the sunrise and sunset with someone I care about here. I've seen old-timey bicycles here. I've won here. I've lost here. I've tied and been upset at the concept of ties here. I've gotten to-go food from Someburros to eat here. I've gotten splinters from here. I've yelled at my best friend here. I've laughed here. I've made fun of a dude named Arty here. I've made up stories in my mind of the origins of the loud industrial noises from the west (across the canal) here. Essentially, I've "lived" here and a part of me always will....
Kiwanis Park may not be the most beautiful park in the world, or even Tempe, but, if you've spent some time living in Tempe, you'll find that it is the oft-overlooked heart of the Tempe I love and miss.
I'm positive many others may have an even longer "I've ____ here" list for Kiwanis Park....
