| - I have been going to Optic Gallery in Boca Park for a few years. Dr. Lee is knowledgable, personable, and she takes the time you require to understand the process. She gets it right. The staff seems ok until you have to deal with them. The first time I went in there, the woman measuring my frames told me that the reason I had become far-sighted in my middle age was because I had diabetes. I don't. She told me that I must have diabetes because I have become overweight. I repeatedly told her that I don't have diabetes or any other kind of physical ailment, per my physician. She insisted. I nearly shouted to the whole room that I don't have diabetes. She was trying to shame me. The next time I went in there, my credit card information was stolen. I have several cards I use in different situations, and this was the first and only time I used it before that employee took off with it and did some traveling. The third time I went in there, I spent lots of time ordering the frame and measuring my PD and choosing lens types, the coatings, etc. I wasn't ready to buy both the frame and the lenses the same day, and was assured that I could just drop off my frames or have someone drop them off for me and they would take that information to fulfill my prescription. Not only did they not keep the information, they were rude about telling me that they would never keep that information and I would have to spend another half hour or so to do it all again. No one loves being lied to more than having their time wasted on top of it all. I especially "enjoyed" it when the office manager repeatedly interrupted me to tell that this was my mistake and problem. Their promises mean nothing.
I decided to learn from my experiences and went someplace else. I tried Target. My experience there was excellent, they filled my prescription exactly, and it cost $260 less than what I was quoted at Optic. For the bonus, they took the receipt for my new frames, and they applied insurance on it. Optic flatly rejected billing insurance for my frames. That is another $100 in my pocket. I'm so glad I left Optic.
