| - Sora is my place for the "Shio Ramen." I've tried their Butter-Corn Ramen which is shio based soup, and it was very good and authentic Hokkaido style. However, for their Miso Ramen, which is another traditional Sapporo (Hokkaido) style soup, I've had better ones in my days. I can actually make a better one myself. Cha-shu was very thick and not very tender, but it tastes good and it's homemade; so, I don't mind that. Everyone has their own style of making cha-shu, and I have fun trying them all. I love pork. LoL
I also like spicy food, so, on one occasion I was brave enough to try their "Spicy Killer Ramen." It looks awfully good in the menu, but it sounds like a soup made from habanero, so I was always reluctant to try it. I asked the waitress how spicy it is, and she said very, very, very spicy. 'Is it more spicy than kimchee?' I asked. She replied 'It's much, much more spicy." So, I got the idea. She recommended me ordering a regular size, but, I went with the large size sho-yu base.
The killer ramen came to the table, and it looks very appetizing, and it smells good. Before I dug into it, I sipped and tasted the soup. It was delicious! But..., made my eyes tear. The level of "spicy" was way off my scale. The bad part was that it tastes good. I thought it was their best ramen there. I just couldn't quit! I finished it all and drank more than a half of the soup. The guy sitting right in front of me was just cracking up watching me tear and sweat and suffering from the torture. Yes, I knew..., I knew I was going to regret it the next day in the bathroom.
That "Spicy Killer" probably is not your best choice to eat during the summer season. It would probably taste even better during the winter season. So, try if you dare. LoL
