| - Hollywood Cone, based on the Hollywood scene theme, offers an over the top soft ice cream experience. They take soft ice cream to the next level compared to Sweet Jesus and DQ Dairy Queen. Please have a look at the photos below of what I have ordered at Hollywood Cone so far. If my photos don't convince you to try Hollywood Cone, then look at the other photos in Yelp and especially Instagram using #hollywoodcone and #hollywoodconetoronto. Yelpers and Instagramers will have more fun taking photos, while posing on the red carpet with their ice cream treats, at Hollywood Cone than at Sweet Jesus.
Hollywood Cone's line up of desserts ranges from the basic soft ice cream in a cone or cup to the Titanic split, the mother of all banana splits. The flavours of soft ice cream available are vanilla, chocolate or twist (a combination of vanilla and chocolate).
If you want to get something small for the kids or yourself, order a cone or cup. For something huge that can be shared, order a mutant shake or a banana split.
If you order a cone, cup, waffle (cone or bowl), you choose your flavour, size, topping.
If you order a shake, you can choose from a small 12 oz. size or a regular 16 oz. size with your choice of ingredient. If you want to try something new and over the top, order a mutant shake. You will take so many photos for Yelp and Instagram! The mutant shakes are really a 2 in 1 dessert. For example, I ordered the Cloud 9 mutant shake. The shake drink was topped by a piece of brownie and a piece of cheesecake. There is a $5 refundable deposit on the mutant shake mug or you can keep the mug as a souvenir. Hollywood Cone has a stamp card for those who order mutant shakes most of the time.
If you want to share a banana split, you have come to the right place. Hollywood Cone has some splits named after actors e.g. Reese Wheresmyspoon and Robert Brownie Jr. For those who want a team challenge, try eating the Titanic split. Built at the Hollywood Cone shipyard in Toronto, she is 18" long and has 4 cookie rolls representing smoke stacks. There is a photo of the Titanic split in Instagram. You need at least 2 professional AYCErs or a family of 6 to sink your teeth into this dessert.
At the time of writing this review, I have eaten the Reese Wheresmyspoon Banana Split, Funnel Cake Mutant Shake, Clould 9 Mutant Shake and Strawberry Shortcake Mutant Shake. Some of these are big desserts that I could barely finish. Otherwise, I recommend sharing the bigger desserts. You can drink the shake and ask for a take out box to eat the pie or cake later at home. I look forward to ordering the other mutant shakes I have not had yet. All the ice cream desserts I have found to be made with quality ingredients. The desserts are fun to take photos of and even more fun to eat!

P.S. I am latose intolerant and I was OK eating the soft ice cream at Hollywood Cone. It's my stomach that is worn out eating some ice cream dishes meant for 2 people :P
