| - While walking to dinner, I noticed this adorable inn. I had read about it years ago and really wanted to stay there but never had the occasion to do so. Thinking that it was the perfect time to check it out, I hit the call bell. A curt answer explained that the voice would come in from the kitchen. While I was waiting, I looked in the windows and took a brochure. It was around 5:30pm on a weekday and no one seemed to be staying there. I looked at the brochure and saw the owner and his two dogs. Then the door opened and the owner, Ed, came out. I explained to him that my husband and I wanted to stay there but never saw it and asked if I could look inside. He signed, rolled his eyes, and said, "I guess" with all the exasperation I think that he could muster. Looking around the one room was amazing. The inside was Victorian heaven and it almost overshadowed the owner's terrible attitude. While I was looking at the woodwork and the furniture, he continually sighed and looked at his watch. After about two minutes inside, I could tell that something was eating at him and this was a bad time. I said, "I don't mean to keep you from anything..." to which he replied, "Well it IS the first hometown game for The Steelers," looking at me like I had a mental disability. I could not believe that an owner would not want to be kind and welcoming to a potential future guest. Shocked, I said, "Got it!", walked out, put the brochure back, and left without a second glance.
I am so disappointed that this was my first experience there. I will never stay at this establishment.
Hey Ed? First impressions are a thing, and you blew it.
