| - It was a windy spring afternoon, and I decided that I was in the mood for some raisin filled, freshly baked gourmet cookies. And in a city like Toronto, such an indulgence isn't so remote a possibility.
I had read about this dual-natured bakery and self-serve organic ice-cream shoppe online, and was impressed with its promise of organic frozen yoghurt, and freshly baked organic cookies--so, I decided to drop in.
The server/baker who greeted me at the counter was very jovial and upbeat, so I felt quite obliged. It took me a while to make my selection, but ultimately, I decided on five mini-gourmet cookies, specifically the oatmeal-base cookie dough, and semi-sweet chocolate chips and cranberries as additions. It took a few minutes for the cookies to bake and subsequently cool, during which time I visited their lavatory.
The cookies came out great, but I've certainly had better for cheaper. I like that they bake the cookies fresh, but I dislike the scant amount that you get for the price. Had I known that they recently hiked their prices (five miniature cookies sell for $4.00 + tax), I might have gone elsewhere, or re-evaluated my penchant for cookies at the time.
Overall, the cookies were to my liking, albeit highly overpriced. I would recommend that you visit this shoppe only if you're in the area, and are truly in the mood to indulge in freshly baked cookies, but are too indolent to whip up your own batch.
