| - My primary Doctor referred me to Smith Dermatology. I received a call the next day and was able to get in the same week, which was nice. The appointment was not. The Dr has the worst bedside manner I have ever experienced. I went in without make up so he could look at my skin, and I felt very vulnerable and embarrassed. He walked in, shook my hand and took one look at me and said, "You need to stop picking." I explained some personal things to him, my depression, anxiety, etc, and he said, "I GET that, but you need to STOP." WOW. Just stop. Well, gee. Why didn't I think of that?!? Because people that obsessively pick their skin, have scars and suffer emotionally really can just stop by themselves and need to be shamed, right? That's so helpful. Thanks Doc! He said he would give me some RX to stop the cystic acne, which insurance may or may not pay for and see me in two months. Didn't ask if I had questions, etc. IN and OUT. Maybe spent five minutes total. This doctor has no compassion or people skills. I won't go back.
