| - Initial thought: great staff, great foyer decor, very spacious foyer
Room: Charlotte
My 2 cents: Disappointed. My group and I drove about 45mins to come and try out this escape room location. We had tried out and completed most of the escape rooms in our area so we were on the hunt for a new and exciting place and try and escape all their rooms.
The puzzles were very easy and if you couldn't solve a puzzle, it was easy enough to through some guesses and get the correct answer to move onto the next puzzle. There was NO tech. NONE. Oh, I lied. They had a hint button. There was no countdown clock, instead, someone would randomly burst through the door and tell you how much time you had left with no warning. There's no cameras so GO CRAZY (haha jk). We were wondering how a team managed to escape a 45 min room in 26 mins....and after completing it in 40 mins, we know why. We spent a lot of extra time randomly doing things but besides the fact, we really spent a good 10 minutes on the last puzzle. I won't spoil anything but after getting a hint for this clue to escape, we asked them how they solved the puzzle and we basically got an "oh we screwed up the puzzle order but it made you guys think didn't it"? WHAT?????
The props and decor was decent in this room. At least they maximized the space they had. This place is VERY GOOD for beginners. But as a group who has been hoping around over a dozen escape room locations over the last 2 years, this was a NO GO in our books. Sorry!
We most likely will not return. After spending 45min per way and paying $30/person for a nontech, 45 min room, we were very disappointed. We're unsure if the other rooms they have are like this as well or if their other locations (Toronto and Vaughan) are the same as well.
